Correction, Felines and Friends, Mike's Music Exchange

A couple of things that missed the last blog:

1. The following is a change to the schedule of events on December 26th.

Sui Ki Li will play the singing bowls at Beyond Borders Books from 4 - 7 on Saturday, December 26. No change to the blues band.

2. Also, Please consider adopting a cat. Felines and Friends has over 100 cats who need good homes. Stop by and visit with them at La Tienda or visit their web site for more information.

3. Mike, at Mike's Music Exchange, is putting out a news letter. I am reprinting it here.

Welcome to Mike's Music Exchange's first second newsletter. We hope you'll find this informative and interesting - in the newsletter you'll find out whats going on at the exchange. Please forward this onto your friends – this is our main form of communication to keep you in touch! You can sign up for our newsletter using this form. Of course, you can always find our more at our website:

Free Sound Check – Dec 28,29,30
Next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we're inviting musicians, friends, and you to our free sound check nights at our performance space! There are still some slots left for artists that want to hop up on stage and test our recording gear – we hope to record and present our artists with a CD of the event. You are welcome to stop by any time during the sound check to support live music from local artists. The sound check is free and runs from 7:00-9:00 PM. If you'd like to perform, you can request a date and time on our website here. You can see the lineup on our events calendar as well as get information on featured artists. We Hope to see you there!
Open Mic Nights Coming In January
Starting in January Mike's Music Exchange will be sponsoring open mic nights on Tuesdays hosted by Bob Bruen and Brian McLane, two talented professional musicians. Bob and Brian would like to be your backup guitar, mandolin, and bass! You just need to provide a lyric, chord, and timing sheet and you'll have your own backing studio musicians. Although open mic not is all about competition, the winning performer will be given a free recording session at the exchange to be cut into a demo CD. We'll have more details about open mic night on our website and in our next newsletter.
Live Performances In January
January will be a great month for live music at the exchange. We will be presenting concerts on weekend nights after the holidays. We will provide more information on website about our featured artists and performances in the future, but you can check our our events calendar to see what we currently have planned. We hope to see you at our performances to help support the local music scene.
Pardon Our Dust
We've been working hard getting Mike's Music Exchange up and running. This week we'll be finishing off our bloodwood pumice filled stage, and then turning our attention to building out our isolation booths and instrument store. We are currently accepting bookings in the performance for January, so if you have a need for the space please let us know by filling out our request form. We hope to have full recording and instructional facilities ready by January 20th – as we approach the date we'll let you know about opening for those.
We hope you've found this newsletter informative and useful, but if you'd like to stop receiving it, you can send an email to mike@mikesmusicexchange.com with the subject line opt out and you won't hear from us again (unfortunately). We hope you'll consider Mike's Music Exchange as your destination for live music, recording services, lessons and instruments.
