Okay, so we're wimps but we still had fun

At 5:30, Saturday afternoon, the wind picked up. Our faces burned as we laid the wood for the bonfire. At 6:00 we checked the forecast which read that temperatures would get to -12 degrees with the windchill factor. So we canceled the fire, moved everything into Mike's Music exchange and expected no-one to show. Who goes out on nights like this?

Turns out, there are a lot of courageous people in Eldorado. About 30 people came, all were disappointed that there wouldn't be a fire, and most stayed for hot cider and live music at Mike's. We left just before 10 pm. Several people stayed until 2 am. Wow!

Above is a photo of John and Karen Cole (Publishers of Santa Fe Oneheart Magazine) joining the jam session.

Soooooo..... We will start having regular bonfires. We will make them earlier in the evening and we will light them (unless it is pouring rain!)

In the meantime, a couple of things to tell you about:

1. Home Planet Cafe is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (Great food, espresso and cappucino, good prices!)

2. Sound Check at Mike's Music Exchange this Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening from 7pm - 9pm. Sound Check will feature local musicians in 30 - 60 minute sessions. Feel free to stop by and listen. No cover for these events.

3. We are looking for people who want to teach after school and/or early childhood classes at La Tienda. We have a great space that we are setting up for this purpose. Eldorado needs more things for kids to do so if you, or someone you know, wants to offer art classes, music classes, movement classes, etc, we would love to hear from you.
